I bought these old slates from little byrd vintage on Etsy recently. They originally came with a red felt edging that was terribly disintegrated but I really liked the style and thought they would be fun to reedge. I don't ever remember seeing slates with fabric edging before, but I think it's a really cute idea that someone could easily reproduce on their own.
So last night while listening to the Sounder's game I got to work. I used some scraps from my Liberty of London stash and my supply of baker's twine. I felt very Little House on the Priarie while sewing up the sides with my makeshift wire needle, but I am really happy with the results. I can't say the same for the score of the Sounder's game.
Thanks G for the pretty flowers!

Those are so cute!
